Over time, Hieratic evolved, leading to the emergence of Demotic, termed "the people's writing." In its final stages, Egyptian transitioned to the Coptic script, influenced significantly by Greek and adopted by Nubians who further developed it with elements from the ancient Meroitic writing system.
